Egon Eiermann Award 2019: The winners have been selected!

Students from Wismar and Zurich receive award

The winners of the Egon Eiermann Award 2019 have been announced. 151 projects were submitted this year on the topic "The consolidation of the city: urban consolidation of buildings and vacant building sites". Since 1991, the German Eternit GmbH has supported the prestigious award - this year, for the first time, the international brand EQUITONE has taken over the foundation of the award.

During the jury meeting at the Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik in Berlin, the submitted projects were examined and judged after intensive discussions. The great variety and high quality of the works quickly became evident.

The jury awarded two prizes to students of the Wismar University of Applied Sciences and the ETH Zurich and 4 recognitions to students and graduates of the UdK Berlin, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the University of Seville and the ETSAM Madrid.

The Award-Winners will each receive € 1.500, the recognitions € 500.

Information

EQUITONE is a through-coloured facade material designed by and for architects. Our company has produced these facade panels since the 1950´s under the name ¨ETERNIT¨. Every EQUITONE panel is unique, showing the raw, untreated texture of the fibre cement base material. Fibre cement is a cement composite material that consists of cement, cellulose and mineral materials, reinforced by a visible matrix. Nothing else. No matter what design options you explore, the through-coloured nature of EQUITONE assures crisp, monolithic details.
